I live in Westchester NY and use these boots only when we have snow more than 3 or 4 inches witch has happened every winter since purchasing them. They haven’t shrunk or dried out and fit great.I have wide feet and wear them with heavy socks and have plenty of roomThe boot design is OK. Warm, light weight, and the lowers fit like a boot should: Just enough room for thick socks, but not sloppy with thinner socks, almost perfect. I agree with other reviewers that the tongue should not be separate from the rest of the upper. The lower is waterproof, but if the water gets higher than that, expect soaked feet. It should have a pull-on loop in the back. They appear to adequate for powder snow, iffy in slush. Still, I would rate them a four on design alone, five if the tongue issue was fixed. The problem comes in on quality control. The right boot fits so well and is so light that it is easy to forget that you are wearing a boot. The left boot, however, is its evil mirror twin. It chafes at the top on the outside of the leg. Worse, on the same side the seam between the upper and lower curves in, causing it to slam into my ankle bone on every step. Very painful. I wonder if I can get one boot replaced.***Updated 12/13/2014***I asked for a replacement and received it. The new left boot rubs a tiny bit, but is very acceptable. They are both comfortable now. Changed from two stars to four.I have not only very wide feet, but very wide in the 'toe box' area. This has always been a hurdle for me with regard to buying footwear. I have searched long and hard, returning many desirable prospects that just did not properly fit. The other problem is that I am looking for something more feasible (as I can be hard on footwear) and simply can't afford to annually replace $250-and-up footwear. Is there anything out there to foot the bill (no pun intended)? Finally, I found a boot that appears to be well made with ample wideness (where I most need it), admirable amenities and the right height all at a reasonable price (under $100)! I preferred something insulated for cold weather and these have Thinsulate lining as well. Spent a long day in the cold and between the boots and wool socks, my feet were very warm and comfortable. They also have decent traction and so far I am very happy with them.So far, so good. Time will tell more as I have only used them a dozen times or so, but for now they are exactly what I was looking for: A pair of functional, well-fitting boots at an attractive price.I am posting this per my husband who I bought these boots for. He was super excited to open the box and the boots were really lightweight! The only downfall was that they felt a bit stiff at first and then the tongue has no laces to cover where it starts? The laces start a bit up from above, so it leaves room for water, ice and snow to get in there. Good thing he knows about that though, he can avoid stepping into any puddles but when he has to stomp into a bunch of snow...who knows what will happen.I think Propet is a well-made brand, so I was surprised when I opened the box that there were glue residue and tool scrape marks where the upper meets the rubber lip of the sole, and a space between the two. I decided not to return them and they were ok in snow but when I wore them out on a warmer slushier day two weeks later, my feet quickly got wet inside the boots. Pretty disappointing for a waterproofed snow boot to leak like that.I also found them uncomfortable to wear for very long. I am a difficult fit, and these boots were wide enough for my 6E foot, but they still pinched at a few points and didn't do much for my very high toe box and arches. Probably not something that will affect most people reading this.I prefer boots over other shoes. I love my Red Wing or Wolverine work boots but I needed a good pair of water proof snow boots to handle this winter weather. These Propet boots are a new favorite. They fit great and are comfortable to wear all day. They also have a unique classy look. I would highly recommend these boots.ORIGINALLY A 5 NOW A 2 !!! I have now been wearing these boots a few weeks. Very comfortable but NOT WATERPROOF AS ADVERTISED! The following line is in the product description, "guaranteed waterproof construction and comfort for miles!" I immediately threw these on upon arrival and began wearing them in this extremely snowy winter. What I didn't realize right away until my feet were wet was that the tongue of the boot is not attached as most waterproof boots are. When walking you naturally are flexing the toe of the boot. Snow enters between the tongue and laces as you walk. If the snow is not deep no problem but if over the foot it will enter the boot. Love the style and the comfort but really was counting on waterproof for deep snow.If you require anything other than a 5e boot I would buy something else. The writer of the boot description did an outstanding job. Everyone else underperformed. The boot rubs my ankles as the leather upper where it joins the canvas rolls in is very uncomfortable. Hopefully it loosens with wear. This boot is not for folks who require a cushioned boot. It has a small cushioned insole and i'm being liberal with the word cushioned. It fells like walking barefoot on concrete. I like the oversized top of the boots as I can leave them laced and slip my foot in them and I like the lacing system. they are definitely 5e witdth and I should have ordered a half size smaller.GreatExcellent boots for what I do. Used them exclusively during the deer hunting and no cold or sore feet. Easy on and off. Fairly light too. Ice fishing with them now. Great boots for the money and available in large sizes. ( I have size15 EEEEE feet.) A very good value IMHO. 12-18-15' A year later and I have ordered and received a second identical pair. I then ordered a pair of size 11-1/2 E boots for my 87 year old uncle as a gift and they are too tight for him. They sent Size 11-1/2 D boots. I am not happy about that at all. His normal size is 11 E. Very disappointed in this last transaction.
